Operation has been going on since 13 hours
Security forces have shot dead three suspected terrorists in an operation in Peshawar’s Hayatabad. It started on Monday night and has been going on since the last 13 hours.
A policeman was shot dead in the exchange of fire too. Two people have been injured.
The operation was carried out after the security agencies were informed that terror suspects have been hiding in a house in Hayatabad.
KP Information Minister Shaukat Ali Yousafzai said that they were tipped off about the presence of terror suspects in the area. The suspects have been accused of attacking judges and AIG. He said that at least six to seven suspects are still present inside the house.
Two explosions were heard during the operation too.
The Peshawar police CCPO, who is leading the operation, said that the operation has entered the final stage.
Drone cameras are used to monitor the movement of the suspects.
Peshawar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood visited the area too.
On Monday night, KP Rescue 1122 tweeted that an intelligence-based operation has been carried out by security forces at Hayatabad, Phase 7, Sector E-5. The area was cordoned off by the security forces.
