78 prisoners getting released from Balochistan jails

The release of 78 prisoners across Balochistan has been ordered by the inspector-general of prisons in an effort to control the spread of the coronavirus.

He said that the decision had been made after Chief Minister Jam Kamal said prisoners who had two months or less time remaining in their prison sentences should be released.

The decision has been taken under rule 216 of the Pakistan Prisons Rule, 1978.
